On Friday 28th August we welcome Worcester-based four-piece blues and rock band Bourbon Alley to Joe Joe Jims.

Bourbon Alley – featuring Mark Archer (Vocals/Guitar), Charlie Lyons (Drums/Vocals), Ian Richards (Keys), Andy Welch (Harmonica/Vocals) and Graham Thatcher (Guitar/Vocals) – are a leading exponent of blues and rock on the gig circuit. An unpretentious, exciting, retro rock and rhythm & blues band, the boys play a wide and varied repertoire within the blues / rock genre.

In addition to pub gigs, they have played at open air and indoor festivals, charity events, private celebrations of all kinds and even many times on live radio and TV!

Support is provided by rapidly rising young star of the local music scene, singer/guitarist George Wilson.

On Sunday 30th August we are excited to welcome back The Subterraneans to JJJ for another afternoon of classic rock anthems from some of the world’s biggest rock bands.

Over a twenty six year life span The Subterraneans have not only built a reputation as one of the best covers bands around, they have also backed some of the most influential artists of the modern age – including cult punk queen Hazel O’Connor and new wave star Toyah Wilcox, to name but two – who the band have toured and recorded with for over 20 years, performing at many of the largest venues in the UK from Glastonbury Festival to the LG Arenas.

The Subs’ live show is big and lively, with amazing sound production from Grammy Award winning record producer Roger Lomas featuring classic anthems from Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Rainbow, AC/DC, Bryan Adams, Stereophonics, The Killers, U2, Keane, Elbow, Take That, Erasure, The Cult, A-ha, and many more.

On Friday 4th September we are pleased to welcome ZZ Toppd, performing their tribute to legendary Texan rockers ZZ Top, to JJJ.

Formed in 2020, the band’s show is the closest think you’ll see and hear to the real thing! Complete with authentic stage props, costume changes and spinning guitars, you can expect to hear all the classic songs from That Little Ol’ Band from Texas (well, Essex in this case!).

Ranging from ZZ Top’s First Album in 1971 to 2012’s La Futura, and even some rarities for the die-hard fans, this is a show drawing classics tracks from all eras of the band and is not to be missed … have mercy!

Loz Rabone returns to JJJ for an afternoon of live music on Sunday 6th September when he’ll treat us to an intimate, acoustic performance.

As well as his role as vocalist/guitarist with The 3 Sixties, in his own right, Loz is a professional singer and guitarist with many years of experience performing acoustic covers drawing from a huge repertoire of rock, indie, folk and pop classics from 60’s to modern day.

A typical set would include covers from bands such as: The Beatles. Oasis, Paul Weller, The Verve, The Stereophonics, The Kooks, Chili Peppers, Kings Of Leon, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Green Day, Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and The Kinks.

On Friday 11th September we are looking forward to welcoming the internationally renowned Led Zeppelin tribute band Letz Sep to the JJJ stage.

Letz Zep comprises highly experienced and respected musicians who are all true Zep fans with a strong musical pedigree – members have toured with artist such as Ozzy Osbourne, Roger Daltrey, Queen, Def Leppard, Jason Bonham, Guy Chambers, Steve Hackett, Dr Feelgood, Saxon and Uriah Heep, to name but a few – possessing the considerable musical ability required to a completely convincing recreation of Led Zeppelin in their prime, complete with the ‘tight but loose’ trademark element so essential to the raw excitement of a Led Zeppelin concert.

Letz Zep cover the entire recording career of Led Zeppelin, from the haunting melody of ‘Kashmir’ to the rockers such as ‘Whole Lotta Love and ‘Immigrant Song’. The folksy acoustics such as ‘Going to California’ and ‘Babe I’m Gonna Leave You’ to the classic ‘Stairway to Heaven’.

On Saturday 12th September we are looking forward to welcoming back Killerstream, The Weekend Anthems Band to Joe Joe Jims for another evening of rock and pop anthems.

Killerstream, The Weekend Anthems Band – featuring James Weston (Lead Vocals), Nigel Boswell (Bass/Vocals), John Martin (Guitars/Vocals) and Ben Jones (Drums) – perform an exciting range of classic cover songs, including dance fillers from Jackie Wilson, Duran Duran, Kool and the Gang and David Bowie and bring their repertoire bang up to date with songs from Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Kings of Leon and The Killers.

The band has gone from strength to strength, combining rock, indie, and hip-hop influences which give this band a fresh exciting edge, and with a repertoire larger than you can shake a drum stick at, Killerstream the Weekend Anthems Band can play anything from Guns and Roses, Killers, Ed Sheeran, all the way through to Andy Williams and always get the party atmosphere flowing!

On Friday 18th September, as a 1/2 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration (we’re mid-way between St. Paddy’s Days and we like ’em, so thought why not?), we are excited to welcome back the awesome Dizzy Lizzy to Joe Joe Jims for a celebration of Dublin’s finest … Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzy!

One of the country’s leading and most dynamic tribute acts, they are the only act to have headlined both, the ‘Vibe for Philo’ in Dublin & ‘Remember Phil & Gary’ event in Holland. Although based in the Midlands, Dizzy Lizzy tour extensively throughout the UK/Europe & have performed as far afield as Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi & Dubai.

Philomena Lynott, Phil’s Mom no less, stated that Dizzy Lizzy are ‘the closest to playing my sons music‘ a great endorsement indeed! Dizzy Lizzy do indeed have an amazing sound and resemblance to the classic 70s & 80s rock band and will take you back in time to relive that magical musical era with a superb blend of classic foot stomping rock anthems and emotive rock ballads.

On Friday 25th September we are pleased to welcome back the excellent Midnight City Soul Band to Joe Joe Jims who are a well established (formed in 1982) five piece band playing a mix of classic Northern Soul & Motown grooves.

The band have in store classic tracks such as Uptight, Seven Days Too Long, Do I Love You, Green Onions and Time is Tight. To sum-up the band, “the sound is big and full, Hammond organ, tenor sax, bass, lead guitar and drums; one of the most powerful and soulful musical line-ups to come out of Birmingham” … or in other words, a ‘must’ for all lovers of Northern Soul!

On Friday 26th September we look forward to welcoming back Kozmic Pearl, the UK’s ultimate Janis Joplin Tribute Act, to the JJJ stage!

It’s no small feat to take-on the work of Janis Joplin but that’s exactly what Mena Hardy does with aplomb. A seasoned rock ‘n roll frontwoman from Canada, she brings decades of experience in soulful, powerful rock ‘n roll singing to this new Birmingham-based tribute band also featuring guitarist Chris Lloyd, bassist Dave Poole, keyboardist Alan Morgan and drummer David Pearce.

The band deliver a raw, soulful, and electrifying performance, capturing the spirit of Janis like no other so ‘Get It While You Can’!
