The power trio – also featuring Mickey Barker on drums and James Hoskins on bass – plays original material along with a smattering of classic rock (Highway to Hell and Freebird have been known to put in an appearance, among others) and blues covers with their own twist – or in their words, “blues/rock played with more psychedelic experience and imagination than most“ – and we have enjoyed many great gigs from them over the years at JJJ!

On Saturday 21st March we are excited to host legendary Rolling Stones tribute band The Rollin’ Stoned at JJJ for a night of some of rock’s most classic songs performed by one of its most classic tribute bands!
A typical two hour show includes not only all the classic crowd pleasing hits, but is spiced with enough eclectic selections from the deeper recesses of Stones Album archives to satisfy the most demanding of “Buffs”, all performed with the same vibrantly authentic attack and raw energy that characterised the original Stones shows in their prime.
With a Rollin Stoned show, the costumes are shamelessly camp, gaudy and absolutely fab, the instruments genuinely vintage and the wit irreverent. However while the tongue is never far from the cheek we make sure it is never to the detriment of the music. This band is not to be confused with the grotesque parody on parody ‘Stella Street’-Lite Stones bands that abound, nor a bunch of seasoned old pros, opportunistically hitched on to the “Tribute Bandwagon” for an easy ride. What clearly comes across to audiences seeing the band at work is the passion we all have for the music of what is, cliché or not, “The Greatest Rock’n’Roll Band” the world has seen.
For those who witnessed the Stones – Brian Jones et al – in their heyday, this is a chance to revisit lost youth, for the rest of you, now’s your chance to see what all the fuss was about!

On the afternoon of Sunday 22nd March we are looking forward to welcoming the melodic rock fusion Henry Frampton Group to JJJ.
The group is an original melodic rock fusion band founded by principal writer, lead singer/saxophonist/keyboardist, Henry Frampton and well known touring guitarist John Robertson (The Selecter, Grace Jones, Lulu, Sky, Morcheeba, Level 42 etc).
The HFG has a majestic stadium sonic fusing lush vocal harmonies, expansive keyboard textures, electric/acoustic guitar, diligent percussive elements and lyrical saxophone melody conjuring a rich tapestry of stereophonic sound within a passionate sentiment. Sonic influences include the pastoral textures of the Pat Metheny Group, stridence of Canadian rock trio RUSH, vocal arrangements of The Carpenters and the romantic, symphonic works of Vaughan Williams and Khachaturian.

We are excited to announce that psychedelic-rock powerhouse Arcadia Roots, who infuse a multitude of genres and styles, are making a welcome return to Joe Joe Jims on Friday 27th March!
Sometimes heavy and raw, sometimes uplifting and trance-like, they create a soundscape that lifts spirits and moves bodies with their music weaving dance vibes with hints of EDM, enriched further by African desert-music influences.
