Brave Rival - Powerful Blues & Rock

On Saturday 18th May we are excited to welcome back the rapidly rising blues rock powerhouse Brave Rival to Joe Joe Jims!

When Joe Bonamassa says “[t]hey’re a great band. I love the music. I love what they are doing…one of my favourite new discoveries this year” about Brave Rival, you know they’re going to be witnessing something special and we’re very pleased to have secured their services for an evening of powerful blues and rock at Joe Joe Jims!

Hailing from Portsmouth, the UK Blues Award Nominated band features the powerful and beautiful twin vocals of Chloe Josephine and Lindsey Bonnick. On lead guitar, providing dramatic guitar solos and crunching rock riffs is Ed “The Shred” Clarke. And holding it all together is the rhythmic backbone, the self-proclaimed engine room of Billy Dedman (bass) and Donna Peters (drums).

Drawing influence from the likes of John Mayer, Aretha Franklin, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and Tedeschi Trucks, Brave Rival offer a style and sound that you’ve always known, and yet never heard before.

Since their inception in the summer of 2019, Brave Rival have gone from strength to strength, featuring in Raw Ramp Magazine as one of the ‘Top 20 Bands To Watch In 2020’ and nominated for ‘Breakthrough Act 2019’ by Get Ready To Rock Radio.

We recommend booking your tickets early as you don’t want to miss out on what will be a great night of live music!

Michael Morrow & The Culprits – Hard Rock Countryfied Blues

Michael Morrow & The Culprits - Hard Rock Countryfied Blues

On Friday 24th May we welcome back Colorado’s Michael Morrow & The Culprits to JJJ to deliver another evening of ‘Hard Rock Countryfied Blues’.

The American Rock Band, hailing from Colorado, deliver the goods when it comes to that bluesy hard rock with a touch of twang undoubtedly coming from that Big Red Gretsch guitar Michael is known for playing over the years. That tone matched with his voice is distinctive. Influenced from bands like The Beatles, Aerosmith, KISS you can hear that melody and strut matter.

They perform regionally from their home state of Colorado to Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah and are once more dipping their toes into the UK following a successful tour in 2023, upholding their mantra of “Write, Record, Perform“.

The boys put on a great show last time they paid us a visit and we’d definitely recommend you don’t miss them this time around.

Jun 1 @ 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm
West Coast Eagles - A Tribute to the Eagles

On Saturday 1st June we are pleased to present the West Coast Eagles, performing their tribute to legendary LA country rockers the Eagles, to JJJ.

Covering the band’s extensive career from their early country-tinged hits to their more classic rock sounds that became more pervasive during the 1970’s and 1980’s, as well as solo songs by the group’s leading song-writers, Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Joe Walsh, the West Coast Eagles will provide a great evening of high quality music and musicianship.

Nailing the bands precise five-part vocal harmonies, arrangements, stage presence and staggering musical pedigree of the Eagles, with five singers, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, drums, and bass they provide a full sound, able to cover many bases, including one of the most famous harmony guitar parts in rock music, in Hotel California.

Matt Long Fundraiser - 3 Day Event / 9 Bands

On Friday 7th June we kick-off a 3-day fundraising event in support of blues singer-songwriter / guitarist Matt Long (Catfish, Matt Long & the The Revenant Ones etc) and his battle with cancer and hope many of you can join us over the weekend to enjoy the 9 great bands we have lined-up!

Matt Long is a young UK blues singer-songwriter and guitarist who currently has a cancer diagnosis where his only chance of survival, as our wonderful NHS can offer no more help for him, is to have his cancer sequenced and sent to the USA for further testing. In short, if the diagnosis is positive, the drugs for his continued chance of survival are available, but expensive!

We, alongside so many muso colleagues around the UK and beyond, will not give up on Matt and want to show our support for him and his family so please come along for as much of this fundraising weekend event as you can and/or donate any loose change you can afford … every coin counts!

The Schedule is as follows:

Friday 7th June (from 8pm):
• Indigo Kid
• Steve Ajao Blues Giants

Saturday 8th June (from 8pm):
• Thomas Heppell
• Big Wolf Band

Sunday 9th June (from 2pm – 10pm):
• The Milk Men
• Ceri Justice & the Jury

Skabucks – Ska/Two Tone Tribute

The UK’s finest tribute to all things Two Tone, the mighty Skabucks, make a welcome return to the JJJ stage on Friday 14th June!
