On Friday 23rd September we are pleased to welcome back virtuoso guitarist Miguel Montalban and his band to Joe Joe Jims!
Miguel Montalban is now recognised all over the world thanks to the success of his albums and a series of street performances in Europe. His arrangement of Dire Straits’s song “Sultans of Swing” was a viral hit on YouTube ranking OVER 10 millions views! Miguel represents in London The International Busking Day and took him to meet Mark Knopfler at a Private Event organised and produced by Gibson Guitars and Busking London exclusively.
Miguel has toured the world and has performed at many prestigious music events including opening the International Motor Show in London and was Introduced to the stage by Rod Stewart at Cancer Trust Concert at The Victoria And Albert Museum in front of Alice Cooper, Peter Frampton, Tom Jones, and sharing stage with Chris Farlowe and Mike D’Abo and released his latest album ‘And the Southern Vultures’ in 2021.
We’re very much looking forward to another great rock gig from a musician described by the legendary Zakk Wyld as “one of the greatest young guitarist around“!

On Saturday 1st October we are excited to welcome country singer-songwriter Brad Henshaw to Joe Joe Jims.
Before becoming a country artist, North Carolina resident Brad Henshaw has staked his claim in the music industry producing shows such as, Blues Brothers Approved, Rhinestone Cowboy and The Road Kings as well as working with some of the biggest names in the industry; Sean Coombs (P.Diddy), Whitney Houston, Buddy Guy, Blur, Richard Ashcroft, UB40, Rod Stewart, Roy Wood, Michael Bolton, Slade, Shirley Bassey and Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Described by Jimmy Webb as “a truly wonderful voice and a great songwriter himself”, Henshaw has performed at renowned events like, MTV World awards, MTV European awards, MOBO awards and multiple world-wide USSO Tours. His debut single “I Got This” organically blends traditional and pop country, with its classic storytelling and modern country sound it’s set it up to be country hit.

On Friday 7th October we are excited to welcome The Psyco Dahlias for their first visit to Joe Joe Jims.
The band formed in 2021 from the cream of some of the Midlands better known bands – the keen eyed amongst you may recognise both guitarist Mike Bannister & bassist Tim Border from Slowburner, along with Colin Edmunds on drums (aka Duke Delight from the Redbeards from Texas … among others) and Dave Manning on vocals/guitar.
So, grab your tickets while you can for what will be a great night of guitar-based psychedelic rock classics from the late-60s West Coast and smattering of other classic tunes reinterpreted by the band into their Acid Rock style!
They band have a diverse, original, dynamic sound mainly encompassing elements of late 60’s psychedelic blues, rock, soul and country … checkout the band playing the Grateful Dead classic I Know You Rider at Orchfest 2021:

On Saturday 8th October we are pleased to welcome Lorise Eaton & The Stealers to Joe Joe Jims.
The Stealers sound is that classic rock sound – Black Crows meets The James Gang with a bit of The Clash on the side – and whilst they are a covers band, born out of the infamous house band at The Tubby Blues Club in Cheltenham, they play all of the tracks they cover in their own style.
Mark (guitar) and Paul (drums), both of who toured and recorded extensively during the late 70’s to the early 90’s are joined by Meg (vocals … think Beth Hart meets Adele with attitude and you won’t be far off) – “who asked at the outset how to get a rockier voice she was advised to smoke 20 Marlboro Red a day and drink whisky; she no longer smokes Marlboro but the whisky or Stella is usually close by” – and Al ‘the bass’ “who is the rock of the band: always on it and in the groove. Al has a tasty (sic) line in horrible shirts of which he is justifiably proud and often competes with Paul in the shirt line and always wins.” 🙂

On Friday 14th October The Melvin Hancox Band make a welcome return to Joe Joe Jims.
Melvin has had a varied musical career from securing his first record deal at 16 to forming Joe Joe Jims favourites Vincent Flatts Final Drive and working with Budgie, Man, Tony McPhee, Canned Heat and the Ace Kefford, among many others.
Now fronting his own band – featuring local legend Tony Baylis on drums – the boys play original material along with a smattering of classic rock and blues covers with their own twist, or in their words, “blues/rock played with more psychedelic experience and imagination than most“!

On Sunday 16th October we are holding a ‘thank you’ fundraiser for the Fire Service featuring live music from Vaseline + Dads n Ladz.
As a ‘thank you‘ to both Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Fire Service – who saved the Lickey Hills from certain devastation during the wildfire in July – we thought it only right to show our appreciation by holding a fundraising event with all proceeds to be shared between the Fire Services involved.
Local punk legends Vaseline will be headlining the event, who always put on a great show – described by guitarist/vocalist Spoz as “chock full of 70s punk rock nostalgia, jumping about and strange hair cuts“ – with support provided by Dads n Ladz (there’s a strong Vaseline connection with this band ;-)).

Saturday 29th October sees the excellent Big Wolf Band hitting the Joe Joe Jims stage for an evening of blues rock.
The five-piece band will be performing two sets of original material, along with a few classic covers, including numbers from their A Rebel’s Story album which claimed the number 1 spot on the Amazon blues album chart and Top 20 on iTunes!
The band have previously supported Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden, among others, and released their second album in 2019, Be Free, featuring Joe Joe Jim’s favourite Zoe Green on lead vocals – tracks from which received radio airplay on the BBC and Planet Rock!

Back by popular demand, David John Payne makes a welcome returns to Joe Joe Jims on Sunday 6th November delivering electric and acoustic heavy roots/blues covers and original numbers from 3.00pm.
David has previously played with The Pressure Group, Brawl, Flex Bison and The Catwalk Villains and lists his influences as, among others, Leadbelly, Peter Green, Otis Redding and Sabbath and regularly performs covers of such classics as Deathletter Blues, Motherless Child and Walkin’ Blues.
Judging by his previous gigs with us, this should be a great afternoon of music and one definitely not to be missed!

On Friday 11th November we welcome back The Journeymen to JJJ with their tribute to all things Clapton!
Lovers of great guitar playing, and great rock/blues music in general, are in for a treat as The Journeymen provide a tour through the vast back catalogue of Eric Clapton from his early days in John Mayall’s Blues Breakers, on through Cream, through Derek & the Dominos and Blind Faith, along with his subsequent hugely popular solo career.
