The Woo Town Hillbillies make their Joe Joe Jims debut on the afternoon of Saturday 6th July for what promises to be a full-on bluegrass country hoe-down double-bill with Clarksville Mountain Band playing in the evening too!
You can expect high-flying bluegrass with tumbling banjo, mandolin and harmonica breaks, all mixed with a smattering of beautiful heartfelt tunes, accompanied by harmonies. All the musicians are versatile, composing their own songs and using pulsating rhythms on double bass, ukulele and guitar to drive this catchy fun-fuelled band.
Come on down, nip a shot of Wild Turkey (other beverages are available!), “grab a pal, kick off your shoes and dance along to the Woo Town blues!“.

A treat for all lovers of the country, blues and bluegrass (and great live music in general!), we are pleased announce the return to Joe Joe Jims of the excellent Clarksville Mountain Band on Saturday 6th July for our Bluegrass Saturday (catch the Wootown Hillbillies at 2.30pm too!).
The acoustic trio play a great selection of “well known covers in a Bluegrass style (with a twist!)” – Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles … so come and join us for an evening of great music!

A real coup for Joe Joe Jims! We are proud to present hit songwriter and former ELO guitarist Dave Scott-Morgan live with MOrganisation. It just so happens that their new SEVEN album is out, so at seven o’clock on the seventh day of the seventh month, expect a blast of original songs, rock n roll classics, quintessential ELO hits and anecdotes from the BrumBeat closet.
Dave has enjoyed a fantastic career starting in the Uglys (with a certain Steve Gibbons), working with Trevor Burton, providing bass and vocals for Magnum and being a member of ELO, along with other bands and projects, and is an accomplished songwriter too! So, make sure you put the date in your diary for what promises to be a great evening of music!

For lovers of classic rock and blues rock we have once again secured the services of the excellent Free & Bad Company tribute band Free at Last on Friday 12th July.
The band have been on the road honing their craft since 1996 and promise “a night of 70’s style red hot blues influenced, soul stealing ROCK” playing all of the classics of both groups as well as a few lesser known gems.
If you attended their gig earlier in the year you’ll know you are in for a great night and if you didn’t, don’t make the same mistake twice!

A real treat for live music lovers, we have a day of top bands performing for us at Joe Joe Jims on Saturday 13th July headlined by Redditch’s Sugar Mama!
First-up we have Birmingham-based indie metal band Three Knuckle Shuffle. The band state “We’re the riffs you need, not what you want” … with some heavy Sabbath inspired licks and Connor’s raspy rock vocals to get the heads banging!
Sugar Mama headline the day, with Rob, Scott and Sam mixing the Blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll together in psychedelic harmony with expression, grooviness and inspiration!

On the afternoon of Sunday 14th July we are pleased to announce the first visit to Joe Joe Jims for Dudley’s [Primer].
The female fronted rock group from the West Midlands formed in 2007 and has seen several member and sound changes before settling on their distinctive, inimitable style; a mix of Celtic inspired vocals mingle with a calling violin, intense drums and an resonating bass to drive an original, unique sound with a difference that is not to be missed.
Currently working in the studio on new material, following a tweak to their sound and line-up, the band are looking forward to hitting the road again and we are looking forward to welcoming them to Joe Joe Jims.

5-piece R&B / Blues group Lenny James & the Gator Squad make a welcome return to Joe Joe Jims on Friday 26th July for some no-nonsense ‘swamp blues’.
Comprising of Lenny James, Rick Lambe, Colin Andrews, Tony Baylis and Tony Perkins, all of whom are seasoned local musicians, the boys will surely give us a great night of live music with their well-honed stage act certain to go-down well with the Joe Joe Jims faithful “who like their music Swampy, Loud, no nonsense and dirty!” … well, who doesn’t?

On Saturday 28th July we thought you might like to enjoy some great entertainment over a drink and to facilitate this, we present the excellent David King who is going to be performing two sets of classic covers for you all!
David is a very experienced local musician/singer and has a great range of covers to present from classic artists including a Mod-influenced set of tracks (David also appears in a Jam Tribute act) so expect some Paul Weller, Steve Marriott related stuff … and, of course, the Jam!

We don’t think we need to describe what they’re all about, as we’re sure you already know, beyond saying they’re a “Whisky Swiggin’ Bad Ass Kickin’ Go Anywhere Giggin’ Boogie Band“, featuring the legendary Steve ‘Bertie’ Burton on vocals, Gary Harper (Guitar), Rich Shelton (Drums) and Russ Cook (Bass).
