As you can never have too much of a good thing, we’ve managed to secure the services of Bertie and the boys for Wednesday 7th August!
We don’t think we need to describe what they’re all about, as we’re sure you already know, beyond saying they’re a “Whisky Swiggin’ Bad Ass Kickin’ Go Anywhere Giggin’ Boogie Band“, featuring the legendary Steve ‘Bertie’ Burton on vocals, Gary Harper (Guitar), Rich Shelton (Drums) and Russ Cook (Bass).
Oh yes, and the gig is FREE entry – so no excuses!

We are excited to welcome back Gasoline & Matches to Joe Joe Jims! Their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ topped the UK iTunes Country Chart in 2018, they have been tipped ‘Artists to Watch’ by Lyrics Magazine’s and received a British Country Music Association nomination for Duo Of The Year.
Sally Rea Morris and Steve Marks deliver a unique blend of Fleetwood Mac-esque harmonies, Brad Paisley-infused guitar solos and energetic live performances with the duo joined by Jamie Clayton on bass, Ben Marshall on keys & banjo and James ‘Beef’ Randall on drums.
This should be a great gig and one definitely not to miss.

Paul, best known as front man for Slowburner, is renowned as one of the UK’s finest vocalists, so much so in fact that another local singer who did alright for himself, called Robert Plant, commented that “Paul’s a great singer who continues the tradition of great British blues & soul singers” … great praise indeed!

Steve Ajao makes a welcome return to Joe Joe Jims on Thursday 12th September bringing his jazz Quartet for an evening of be-bop tinged classics.
Backed by drums, double bass and piano, the Steve Ajao Quartet are all highly experienced musicians who will be presenting two sets of bebop jazz. Although we don’t know the set Steve will choose for the gig, the Quartet have previously included Dizzy Gillespie’s bebop number ‘A Night in Tunisia’ to the ballad ‘The Things we did last summer’ and the bluesy inflections of Charlie Parker’s ‘Chi-Chi’ along with Dexter Gordon’s ‘Cheesecake’ … just to give you a flavour (no pun intended) of what to expect.
