Well, 2018 was quite a year – we went from our first band, Arcadia roots, in April to finishing the year on a high with two packed-out gigs for Steve Gibbons and Led Hendrix and celebrating our 1st year as a bar in the process.
So, firstly, thank you to everyone who visited us and has helped get us on the map as a bar and live entertainment venue – we couldn’t have done it without you!
Secondly, onto 2019 … we have a lot of plans for improving Joe Joe Jims and are just about to get cracking on moving and enlarging the stage and extending the bar for starters: hence why we haven’t booked any bands for January. However, we’re now well underway with booking bands from February with the Official Deceivers kicking things off with their unique tributes to Dr Feelgood and Steve Marriott on Friday the 2nd of February so keep checking on Facebook and the What’s On page of this website to see what’s coming-up.
We’ve also tweaked our drinks prices down over the last month or two and are expanding our range of beers by introducing some old favourites like Newquay Brown and Budweiser to our range.
Hope to see you soon!
We had been a planning a lot of work on the old place during November – both inside and out – and had kept most of November free. However, we got the live music bug, put down the power tools, and have managed to secure the talents of the mighty Matt Woosey Band and the New Arkansans for gigs!
US-based Rock, Blues, Soul & Folk Duo the New Arkansans popped ibn to one of our Open Mic Nights … liked the place (and hopefully us too) and decided they’d like to play at JJJs whilst they are in the UK on their current tour. You can now see them on Wednesday 21st November … and what’s more, it’s FREE (but we will pass a collection bucket will be passed around on the night … can’t see them going hungry now can we?).
Malvern-born bluesman Matt gave us a great, intimate solo acoustic performance back in July and he’s now back with his full electric blues band on Sunday 2nd December for what will be our first Sunday afternoon gig (kicking-off at 2.30pm). We can’t stress enough … AFTERNOON … it will be no good crying into your beer if you turn-up in the evening and miss it!
As far as we’re concerned, we’re really fortunate the above artists are playing at Joe Joe Jims and they areally are ‘not to be missed’ gigs: see you there.

It may not have escaped the attention of recent visitors to Joe Joe Jims that there has been some restructuring going on over the past couple of weeks.
Well, those works were completed last week and the fruit of our labours was put to the test Saturday night when we hosted a charity night featuring the excellent Vincent Flatts Easily Led … seen above in full flight.
We’ve expanded the ‘gig’ area of the venue and created a new stage area which provides a much better audience experience, compared to the previous configuration, with greater line of sight of the stage and eases congestion around the bar area too … something we’d spotted as a bit of an issue previously.
Other plans are afoot for developments too but are apparently on a ‘need to know’ basis … and I assume I don’t ‘need to know’ but once Fletch tells me, you’ll hear it here first!
You may or may not have noticed that we do a range of exciting cocktails at the bar. Here we see Sarah & Jackie preparing one … at least we think that’s what they’re doing??
Anyway, we have spent some time putting together (and testing, of course) a great cocktail menu containing some classics – mojitos anyone? – and concocting some that you will only find at Joe Joe Jims.
So, when you next come along, take a look at the cocktail list and take the plunge … you’ll be glad you did!
